Unemployment insurance in the UAE: residents will not be able to extend work visas for non-payment of fines.
The deadline for registration in the mandatory unemployment insurance program in the UAE was October 1. If you missed it, then it’s time to check the penalties.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) warned that those who have not registered in the system will not be able to extend work visas until they pay fines.
The penalty for late registration is 400 dirhams, and for late payment — 200 dirhams and cancellation of the insurance policy.
You can check and pay for them through the MoHRE app, the official website or at one of the authorized centers. The Ministry allows you to pay fines in installments, and also accepts appeals for exemption from them if all supporting documents are provided.
